We all grieve in different ways. As for me, I choose to remember the good times with family and friends and laugh as much as possible.
Thanksgiving was my husband's favorite holiday. From the guess the weight of the turkey contest to going around the table and saying what we are thankful for, he loved every minute. Since this was our 1st Thanksgiving without him I chose to make it as fun as possible.
As Sheryl Sandberg says in her book Option B, children are resilient. My grandson asked if I would marry again and also wanted to look in Papa's closet. A good question and a need for some reason.
We had talked about a Jump Castle while Mark was in the hospital. Granddaughter Vivian had had one at her birthday and loved it. We agreed it would fun. I followed through and it was too much fun. I had never been in one before, ever, and going down the slide with Chari was, as you can see, hilarious.
If loss will make your heart heavy this holiday season my thoughts are with you.
