Chari and I love Thanksgiving, but we each have our own family history. My house has always been the gathering place. When my children were little my husband’s family came. Twenty-some people sleeping and eating in my house for a long weekend. Now that my children have children of their own they all come here to be with Grandma and Papa.
Chari is from Georgia. She grew up in a rural area and her holiday also revolved around family. Family going hunting that is. After hunting, they all came in for a large festive meal.
Chari and I live just a few blocks apart in the same large neighborhood, Dunes West. She has 3 children, 2 boys, and a girl and I have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. I have 4 grandchildren and Chari has 4 dogs. Our backgrounds may be different, but we both put family first.
This year for the 1st time we will celebrate part of our Thanksgiving weekend together. We will meld our families and have a joyous night before turkey at my house. Can’t tell you what I’m serving, or it won’t be a surprise, but I can reveal we will have an ice-cream sundae bar for dessert.
No matter how you celebrate we hope you enjoy your holiday.
As always, any real estate questions let us know. We make house calls.
